The term “digital economy” has recently become a hot topic of discussion among politicians, economists and experts. The main reason for this can be attributed to the fact that many countries have been able to achieve great success, especially as a result of the introduction of digital data into the economy.
The instructions of our esteemed President in the development of the digital economy in our country require a constant increase in our knowledge in this area and an expansion of our horizons with regard to economic events taking place in our society. Because taking into account the fact that each reform carried out in our state is aimed at the benefit of our people, the prosperity of our Motherland, the content of the development of the digital economy, its role in increasing the economic potential of our state, as well as Understanding the modern way of economic development of the world economy contributes to a successful implementation of the tasks facing it. It is important to study the experience accumulated abroad in this area, which is planned to be introduced into our national economy in the near future, and to realize its advantages. For this, first of all, it is necessary to answer the question “What is the digital economy?” The term was first coined in 1995 by Nicholas Negroponte, a scientist at the University of Massachusetts in the United States. He used this term to describe the advantages of the new economy created by the rapid development of information and communication technologies over the previous economy. In the context of economic theoretical science, as is customary, in the past, labor, capital and raw materials belonged to the production factor, but now in the context of an innovative economy this includes technology, education and innovation. Why is data so important today? Because data is now characterized as a new asset, and just like any asset, it has value. That is, the data can be used to realize new goals and new ideas.
Thus, the digital economy is a type of economic activity in which digital data is the main factor of production. Unlike traditional forms of economic management, large-scale data processing increases the efficiency of import, storage and sale of various products, technologies, equipment, as well as goods and services. Such conveniences make the listed economy attractive to many countries.
In general, the study of the experience of the development of the digital economy in a number of foreign countries, on the one hand, requires a radical transformation of the systems of science and education, the rapid development of the electronic industry, the widespread involvement of our entrepreneurs. On the other hand, according to international experts, in addition to the benefits of further accounting for the economy, this also entails a number of risks. This is due to the growing dependence on digital technologies, as well as the growing risk of cyber threats related to data protection. This is why countries that want to develop a digital economy need to focus on these issues.
