INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY

My greetings to all women, as the world celebrates ‘ international women’s day on 8th March, I express my gratitude to all women…grand-mothers, mothers, sisters, daughters, wives, friends, peers, professionals….to all known and unknown women. International women’s day grew out of the labor movement to became a recognized annual event by the united nations. The idea to make the day international came from woman Clara Zetkin. She suggested the idea in 1910 at an international conference of working women in Copenhagen. There were 100 women there from 17 countries, and they agreed on her suggestion unanimously. In 1946 feminists in Italy chose the mimosa flower as a symbol of strength, sensibility and sensitivity for women’s day. Over the years, women and men alike have continued to give the gift of flowers to show their appreciation for the strong women in their lives.

In my humble opinion, we need to remember women heroes of our country today and we should be proud of them. For example, permanent representative of Turkmenistan to the united nations Mrs. Aksoltan Torayeva is an example of professionalism in the field of diplomacy. Gozel Shagulyyeva is certainly one of the most influential writers in our country. Maya Kuliyeva was a turkmen operatic soprano and actress. Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan Mrs. Chinar Tajiyevna Rustemova made a great contribution to the development of our country in the years of independence.

Where there is a woman, there is a magic. There is no influence so powerful as that of the mother. A mother is the one who fills your heart in the first place. When you look into your mother’s eyes, you know that is the purest love you can find on this earth. Happy international women’s day.
