The Government of Turkmenistan is strengthening its status as an active participant in international affairs by expanding cooperation with the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE). The President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, approved the cooperation work plan for 2026 during a Cabinet of Ministers meeting held via digital system.The plan, presented by Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs R. Meredov, covers key security areas and various initiatives.
These include strengthening peace and security, promoting preventive diplomacy, enhancing customs and border management, improving cybersecurity, developing the economy and regional economic cooperation, increasing energy efficiency, strengthening environmental security, addressing climate change issues, protecting human rights and freedoms in the fields of education and science, reinforcing democratic institutions, ensuring gender equality, and supporting the development of mass media.
The President emphasized that systematic dialogue with international organizations remains a priority of Turkmenistan’s foreign policy and instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to ensure proper implementation of the relevant measures.
