Turkmen Students Secure 16 Medals at the 22nd Zhautykov International Olympiad

School students from Turkmenistan demonstrated outstanding performance at the 22nd International Zhautykov Olympiad in Mathematics, Physics, and Computer Science, held in Astana, Kazakhstan, from January 10 to 14.

As a result of the competition, Turkmen participants earned a total of 16 medals, including one gold, four silver, and eleven bronze awards, confirming the high level of academic training among the country’s youth.
The gold medal in mathematics was won by Hemra Gurbanov, a 10th-grade student of Secondary School No. 86 in Ashgabat. Silver medals in mathematics were awarded to Myaliksha Meylismyradov (School No. 86), Murat Ruslanov (School No. 97), and Selim Hommatdurdyev (School No. 135). Bronze medals in the same discipline went to Seyitgeldi Hojamuhammedov (School No. 83); Sanjar Hojaniyazov and Soyunmukhammet Geldimammedov (School No. 49); Begli Ishanmyradov and Kumush Nobatova (School No. 86); and Begench Gummanov from Dashoguz (School No. 26).

In physics, Dovlet Annamyradov from Shatlyk, Mary velayat, received a silver medal, while Nurgeldi Annagurdov (School No. 79) and Aisenem Kakamyradova (School No. 10, Mary) earned bronze medals. In computer science, bronze awards were claimed by Hojamukhammet Hydyrov and Ykhlas Annamyradov (School No. 86), as well as Kasym Kochekov (School No. 135), all from Ashgabat.

The Olympiad was organized by Kazakhstan’s Republican Scientific and Practical Center “Daryn” and has been held annually since 2005. It aims to promote scientific disciplines, foster international academic cooperation, and facilitate the exchange of educational experience.

This year’s event brought together more than 600 talented students from 16 countries. Turkmenistan was represented by a team of 28 students, who showcased strong knowledge, creativity, and a high level of preparedness. Their success marked the first major international academic achievement for Turkmen youth in 2026, highlighting their growing role in enhancing the country’s global reputation.
