Turkey plans to resume the import of natural gas from Turkmenistan in 2026 and increase supply volumes in the future. This was announced by Turkey’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Alparslan Bayraktar, in an interview with TRT Haber, according to Interfax.
The minister emphasized that 2026 will be a significant year in terms of restarting deliveries of Turkmen natural gas and expanding supply volumes. He also noted that negotiations are underway to extend the gas contract with Algeria, while alternative sources of gas supply are being actively explored.
