The Turkmenistan Basketball Cup tournament among men’s teams has concluded in the city of Ashgabat. The final matches were held on December 28 at the sports complex of the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports, bringing together the country’s leading basketball teams.
This tournament became an important concluding event of the national sports calendar and clearly demonstrated the high level of preparation of Turkmen basketball players. Throughout the competition, teams displayed strong rivalry and a high degree of skill.
The most exciting moment of the tournament was the final match between the “Talyp sport” team and the “Galkan” team of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The game was intense and highly competitive: the players of “Galkan” put up strong resistance, but the representatives of “Talyp sport” proved more effective in the decisive moments of the match.
As a result, the final game ended with a 78–66 victory for the “Talyp sport” team. Thanks to well-coordinated team tactics and effective offensive play, the student team became the winner of the Turkmenistan Basketball Cup.
In the match for third place, the capital’s “Ashgabat” team showed great determination, defeated their opponents, and earned the bronze medals. At the end of the tournament, a ceremonial award ceremony was held, during which special prizes were presented to the standout players.
The organizers noted that such tournaments contribute significantly to the development of basketball in the country, increase young people’s interest in the sport, and help national team coaches identify promising players for future international competitions.
