247 convicted citizens pardoned in Turkmenistan

With the declaration of 2025 as the International Year of Peace and Trust, a significant event took place in Turkmenistan’s public life — the Honorable President signed a Decree on granting amnesty to convicted citizens. This act represents the modern continuation of our people’s noble humanitarian traditions such as compassion and forgiveness, inherited from our great ancestors.

Those granted amnesty are given the opportunity to be released from imprisonment, to begin a new life, to work honestly, and to become beneficial members of society. The state provides all necessary conditions for these citizens to reintegrate into society and live in unity and harmony.

The humanitarian policy pursued in Turkmenistan carries great significance not only within the country but also on the international stage. The decision made in the framework of the International Year of Peace and Trust is a profound humanitarian message from our nation to the global community. The fact that values such as peace, trust, and forgiveness are not merely slogans but are actively implemented as state policy further enhances Turkmenistan’s international reputation.
