Young Volunteers Tour the Ethnography Museum

Young People’s Interest in Historical Heritage Grows: An Ethnography Exhibition Visit Held in Ashgabat

Volunteers from the Youth Entrepreneurs Center of TSTP and the Volunteers Center of TMÝG visited the Ethnography Museum of the State Museum under the State Cultural Center of Turkmenistan.

The purpose of this visit was to increase young people’s love for our national heritage, familiarize them with the lifestyle traditions of our ancestors, and promote the ancient cultural wealth of the Turkmen people to the younger generation.

At the Ethnography Center, participants were shown traditional national farming tools such as the juwaz, jykyr, soky daşy, and mill equipment used in agriculture. Exhibits related to animal husbandry and fishing also attracted special attention from the youth.

The exhibition featured a traditional yurt, Alabay dogs, Akhal-Teke horses, farming tools, plowing equipment, historical printed publications, weapons from various periods, scenes depicting rural life, as well as items representing the rich culture of our people, including crafts, national musical instruments, and traditional bridal customs.

This visit significantly boosted the young participants’ pride in their cultural heritage, contributing greatly to their personal development and the strengthening of patriotic feelings. Such events play an important role in the spiritual and moral enrichment of the youth.

The volunteer youth who attended the exhibition left deeply impressed, emphasizing the necessity of learning about and promoting our national values. They noted that continued cultural events like this are essential for the development of the younger generation.
