Five Years of the Ahal Gas-to-Gasoline Plant: A Milestone in Innovation

The Ahal Gas-to-Gasoline plant, inaugurated in 2019, marks its fifth year of operation this year. Known for its eco-friendly technology, the facility has garnered global attention and was recognized by the Guinness World Records as the world’s first gas-to-gasoline plant.

This state-of-the-art facility was constructed by Turkmengaz State Concern in collaboration with Japan’s Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd. and Turkey’s Rönesans Endüstri Tesisleri. Spanning 580 hectares, the plant produces 600,000 tons of EURO-5 compliant ECO-93 gasoline and 115,000 tons of liquefied gas annually.

Safety and skill development are top priorities at the plant. Security Chief Hasar Orazov emphasized the continuous operation ensured by a four-shift schedule and the rigorous adherence to safety protocols. Regular training and drills are conducted to maintain high standards, with specialized expertise provided by Japanese and Turkish contractors.

The facility stands out not only for its innovation in production but also for its environmental sustainability, certified by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s EURO-5 standards.
