Turkmenistan is sending 29 athletes to the 5th World Nomad Games

29 athletes and 6 coaches will represent Turkmenistan at the 5th World Nomad Games, which will start on September 8 in Astana, Kazakhstan. This information was reported by the publication “Turkmenistan: Golden Age,” citing the State Committee for Physical Culture and Sports.

The World Nomad Games are the largest international competition in ethnic sports, featuring the traditional games of the nomadic peoples of Central Asia. This year, approximately 4,000 athletes from 100 countries will participate in the games, competing for 97 sets of medals in 21 sports, including horse racing, national wrestling, archery, and traditional intellectual games.

The opening ceremony will take place on September 8 at the Astana Arena stadium, and the closing ceremony will be held on September 13 at the Kazanat Central Hippodrome. The games aim to develop the ethnosports and ethnocultural movement and have been included in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List.
