In 1996, the United Nations general assembly declared November 21 World Television Day. The UN recognized television as having an increased impact on decision making as well as being an ambassador for the entertainment industry. If we mention about the foundation of Turkmen television, on September 19, 1996, there was a meeting with the leaders of the French television channel “Buig” TF and well-known French entrepreneurs, and the protocol on the construction of a television center in our country was signed. In the years of Independence “Altyn asyr”, “Miras”,” Yashlyk”, “Turkmenistan”, “Turkmen owazy”, “Ashgabat”, “Turkmen sport” TV channels were created. Each of these TV channels are independent from each other and prepare interesting TV shows about the achievements, goals of our Motherland and the traditions of Turkmen people to the TV spectators.
