A new page in Turkmen-Chinese relations

Turkmen-Chinese relations are getting stronger day by day. Cooperation between Turkmenistan and China is long-term and is based on the agreement signed in 2013 to establish strategic cooperation relations. Politics, trade, culture, science and education are the main areas of wide and multilateral relations between Turkmenistan and China.

China is one of the biggest trade partners for Turkmenistan. China is an important investor in Turkmenistan’s economy. About 30 enterprises of the People’s Republic of China conduct economic activities in the country. Companies from the People’s Republic of China are actively investing in the transportation sector of the economy 90% of the railway’s transport capacity is provided by Chinese-made locomotives.
The main products exported from Turkmenistan to China are natural gas, oil products, cotton fiber, fabrics, cotton yarn, textile products, sulfur, cement.

Turkmenistan and China are actively developing cooperation within the framework of major international organizations, namely the United Nations and other organizations. The People’s Republic of China is also very interested in the large-scale reforms taking place in the country. The relations established on the basis of friendship, mutual trust and understanding between the two countries currently create conditions for effective cooperation in various fields, including energy, trade-economic, transport-communication, cultural-humanitarian fields.
