The first Russian goods export to African countries was ice cream; Interfax reports that according to a statement from the country’s Agroexport Center at the country’s Ministry of Agriculture last year in the hot climate with more than 1,000 tons of Russian ice-cream sold.

According to the head of the center, Dmitry Krasnov, we need to increase the number of products in order to fully develop the export of Russian dairy products to the African continent. It is important to pay attention to the export of dry milk and cheese.

Dry milk is an important good as a dairy product for Africa. The businessman said that last year, 62 percent of Africa’s imports came from dry milk, and the share of cheese was 15 percent.

According to the center’s press release, Africa buys $ 4.7 billion worth of dairy products annually, and imports of dry milk have increased by 25 percent in the last four years.
