Turkmenistan will continue to supply electricity to Kyrgyzstan in 2022

Turkmenistan signed agreement with Kyrgyzstan on the supply of electricity until 2022. This was stated by the Minister of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic Doskul Bekmurzaev at the fifth meeting of the Turkmen-Kyrgyz Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Humanitarian Cooperation in an online format.

The meeting was attended by heads and representatives of leading ministries, departments and business circles of the two countries.

The meeting participants also expressed interest in expanding contacts in industry, transport, agriculture, the fuel and energy sector and other sectors. In particular, proposals were made on joint work on a transport corridor designed to give Kyrgyzstan access to the Caspian Sea.

In this regard, the Turkmen side proposed to the Kyrgyz partners to consider the possibility of using the capacities of the international seaport of Turkmenbashi when transporting goods in the East – West – East direction.
