Ashgabat glorified by Arkadag

During his traditional visit to the Ahalteke equestrian complex under the President of Turkmenistan, our Hero – Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, in connection with the birth of the first foal from the legendary horse Akhan, in accordance with the national tradition, tied an Alaja around its neck. The head of state and the foal Ashgabat, Using the first letter of its father’s name, in honour of the glorious 140 th anniversary of our beautiful capital city. This joyful event and new poem by the leader of the nation My White City – Ashgabat, set to music by his grandson Kerim Berdimuhamedov, has become a new significant symbol of the year 2021.

“Pearl of Asia… Centre of brotherhood and friendship…” With the proclamation of independence, Ashgabat became the political, economic and cultural center of the country, which was recognized by the world community due to its constructive foreign policy, lasting peace and stability in the country. These factor with every passing day condition the ever- growing role of Ashgabat in the region as a peacekeeping center and a new center of business activity, in which all the conditions for successful business are created.

A spring of the Kopetdag Mountains,
An ornament of the Karakum Desert
And an expanse of white flowers,
My white city – Ashgabat!

These lyrical lines express the admiration of Arkadag for Ashgabat, which was historically planned so that almost from any point where there is enough free space, an amazing view of the Kopetdag ridge opens up. This Beautiful mountain range stretches in the south, and in the north, the city is bordered upon the man-made Karakum River, across which the sand dunes of the Karakum Desert begin. Thus, Ashgabat is nothing more than a natural oasis between the sands and foothills, beautified by man, where the urban environment originally interacts with the natural landscape.

We have all become witnesses and participants in a new, unprecedented
flourishing of our capital city. The past 30 years of independence of Turkmenistan is a time of the accelerated development of the city, which has turned into a metropolis with a powerful modern and comfortable infrastructure for living and working literally in front of our eyes. It grows with white-stone skyscrapers every year. Public gardens and parks are laid out everywhere, hundreds of fountains bring soothing coolness. Unique palaces, stadiums, theatres, hotels, mosques, like lace jewelry, can delight the eye.

For example, in the centre of the capital city, there is an art and entertainment complex called the Alley of Inspiration. Trees were planted along the bed of the artificial river and bright, picturesque flower beds were laid out. There one can see many monuments erected in honour of famous Turkmen writers, thinkers and scientists.

Ashgabat is the heart of the Motherland … And this is truly so. Largely
thanks to the national leader Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, our beloved white- marble capital is known as a city of a happy future with a magnificent architectural look, large-scale innovative and technological achievements and the rich historical and cultural heritage of the Turkmen people and also as a peace-making centre in Central Asia, where an extremely noble idea to declare 2021 the International Year of Peace and Trust originated.
