In the prosperous epoch of powerful state, our people, under the leadership of the President of Turkmenistan are implementing new reforms, high achievements and implementing the spiritual and cultural principles inherent in the Turkmen people. Proceeding from this, on the occasion of the proclamation 2021 year “Turkmenistan – the Motherland of peace and trust” and the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s independence, at the State Academy of Arts of Turkmenistan was opened the competition of sculptors. The exhibition is aimed at demonstrating the works of art by foreign and Turkmen sculptors glorifying peace, tranquility and patriotism. The exhibition features more than a hundred sculptures created on themes such as peace, labor, cultural heritage and a happy family, which were executed mainly in round and relief sizes. These sculptures are made according to the established standards in wood, plaster, bronze, stone and palestral materials. In addition to experienced master sculptors, the exhibition was attended by students who work and study in special art schools and the State Academy of Arts of Turkmenistan , as well as with stunning sculptures.
More than twenty talented sculptors from such republics as Armenia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Moldova, Mongolia, the United Arab Emirates, Ukraine and the Russian Federation, People’s Republic of China are participating in the competition, which opens up opportunities for strengthening friendly relations with countries around the world. Among them are the works in the mythological genre and unique composition structures of Armenian sculptors, such as Arman Hambardzumýan, Guy Gazanchyan, and talented sculptors from the Republic of Moldova, such as Ion Kataraga. In addition, portrait sculptures play an important role in the exhibition. Looking at the “Portrait of Victor” by Gramma Adrian Dorel, “Portrait of Galina Neshko” by Druméu Stefa, as well as the self-portrait of Adel Usmanova, made in different sizes of clay and plaster, one can understand the inner world of the person depicted. Konstantin Kostyuchenko’s large-scale work “Tenge” is created in the form of a relief sculpture. This bronze sculpture is considered a monumental work and serves as a decorative part of the building’s composition structure. The works of the sculptor Yu Jeong Hee, of the Republic of Korea, are distinguished by their great love for nature and the creatures that make up it. His unique sculptural comp “Nature and love for animals”, made of plaster and enriched with glass fragments, draws on a long tradition of Korean art. The main part of the exhibition formed the works of russian sculptors. Among them are such sculptural compositions as “A Letter from the front” of Rustem Hasanov, “Fisherman” of Ilgiz Fayzullin, “Desert Ship, Camel” “Shepherd” of Victor Dordzhiev. These foreign sculptural compositions are important components of contemporary world sculpture. They continue to advance genres and trends while creating a uniquely groundbreaking radiance.
Competition of sculptors introduces viewers to the wonderful sculptural works of different countries. A prominent place among them is a masterpiece arising from the keen talent of Turkmen sculptors. These sculptural works are important in the development of modern Turkmen sculpture. The exhibition is attended by young teachers and mentors, talented students of the State Academy of Arts of Turkmenistan, the Turkmen State Special Art School at the State Academy of Arts of Turkmenistan, as well as teachers children’s art schools in the regions. The works of teachers of the State Academy of Arts of Turkmenistan like a “Dordepel” of Maksat Tugurov, “Taichanak”, “Dayhan” of Shirmyrat Khojaguliyev, “Shukur Bagshi”, “Lale” of Gurbangeldi Gayipberdiev, “Turkmen national games” by Maksat Hojainov, explained the life and traditions of the our nation. The works of free sculptors Orazmyrat Gurbanov and Artyknazar Meredov, who continue their creative path, gave the exhibition a unique beauty. Orazmyrat Gurbanov’s sculptures such as “Mukam”, “Cotton”, “Three moments” impressed the audience not only with their performing skills, but also with the versatility of the composition. Artyknazar Meredov’s bronze sculptures “The family” and “The girl with flower” attract different symbolic tones. The exhibition also presents compositions of talented students and graduates of the State Academy of Arts of Turkmenistan, glorifying peace, tranquility, labor and a healthy lifestyle. These works are the fruit of the labor of young people studying sculpture.
In general, the competition of sculptors, which opened at the State Academy of Arts of Turkmenistan, is one of the great achievements in strengthening the growing friendship and brotherhood between states. The exhibition played an important role in the exchange of knowledge and experience in the field of culture and art, opening up new fields and opportunities for sculptors.
