OSCE webinar on journalism education

On June 1-2, 2021, a training seminar was held through a digital video communications within the framework of the project “Promoting the improvement of journalism education and professional training of journalists” organized by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) .The main goal of this seminar is to improve the education system in journalism, exchange experience on the implementation of a master’s degree in the fields of “Political Communication” and “Digital Journalism” in higher educational institutions of the country.

This training seminar was attended by the head of the OSCE Center in Ashgabat, Marek Beckermen and Eduard Voytenko, the experts from the United Kingdom, the Russian Federation, the representatives of the Parliament of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan, the Chief Correspondent of the State News Agency of Turkmenistan, the editorial staff of the newspapers “Turkmenistan” and «Нейтральный Туркменистан», the teachers of Magtymguly Turkmen State University, the International University for Humanities and Development, the Turkmen State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports, as well as the teachers from the Faculty of International Journalism of the Institute of International Relations participated in this training seminar.

John Mac Gregor, the head of the Center OSCE in Ashgabat was the first to make a speech at the seminar. In his speech, he underlined the purpose and objectives of the first day of the training seminar.

During the seminar, foreign specialists shared their world experience in teaching the master’s degree studies in higher educational institutions.
