Economy in everyday life

Economics is one of the most difficult and at the same time simple to understand areas of modern life. Many people believe that it is not needed by a common man in the street, and that only businessmen, traders and stock brokers should understand it, but this, of course, is not the case. The word «economics» literally translates from Greek as «organizing and running a household», and this definition speaks for itself. Based on this, it turns out that it is useful for each of us to have some kind of primitive understanding of the laws of economics.

What is the role of the economy in society? One of the well-known definitions of the concept of «economy» is a set of relations that develop in the system of production, distribution, exchange and consumption. And if you think about it, everything is much simpler than it seems. Each of us participates in the process of consumption, exchange and distribution of products of production. Representatives of both the most primitive and the most highly developed civilizations will always have any needs – for food, water, everyday objects, knowledge, interesting activities. This means that people of any society cannot do without such a phenomenon as the economy. Whether we like it or not, our life is arranged in such a way that we all change something of value in order to get something else, some kind of item or service that is of particular value to us. Surely the first association with the word economy that arises in everyone is money, and this is quite fair. Money surrounds us everywhere, it is money that we exchange for the services and resources we need. And even if it seems that we have no money, this is only an illusion. Because they are very close, embodied in those things around us, to which we can assign a value and which we can sell.

By the way, housewives are the best in economics. They go to the store every day, calculate the funds they need for a certain number of purchases, distribute the cost of food for cooking to all family members over a certain period of time, etc.

Similar schemes operate in any other area, be it medical services, entertainment, the sale of food or light industry goods. Of course, this is very roughly said, and, nevertheless, any enterprise that is engaged in production or trade must calculate its resources and costs in order to function effectively. Thus, the economy is one of the leading phenomena of social relations, the essential role of which in our life cannot be denied.
